This was a popular song by Meghan Trainor and John Legend when I was pregnant with Quinn. I used to belt it out in the car all the time (I think I have a way better voice than I actually do). I found myself wondering if that would be a song that would soothe her when she was born, since she heard it so much in utero. I heard it today on the radio and tears welled. The words of the song are really ironic now. We’re not promised tomorrow. I’m gonna love you, like I’m gonna lose you. I’m gonna hold you like I’m saying goodbye. In the blink of an eye, just a whisper of smoke. You could lose everything, the truth is you never know.
